How Women Work

Keynote

A male hormonal cycle is 24 hours long. A female hormonal cycle is 28 days. Despite this inherent difference, our world is often set to a male default. We’re taught that the menstrual cycle is only significant in terms of reproduction or hygiene. For those of us who menstruate, we grow up learning more about the cycle on a washing machine than the one in our own body. This gap in information plays out across society, in relationships and in the health system. But there’s more and with one conversation at a time, we can empower women and those who menstruate with body literacy that benefits us far beyond the bleed.

 Practice Your Power

Workshop

Refresh your understanding of the menstrual cycle and cultivate a deeper connection to yourself. Be where you are and use what you have to move more confidently through the world, no matter what cycle day you are on. This affirming and joyful workshop is a place for you to explore your four menstrual cycle phases in a supportive, embodied and experiential way. There is a time to Dream, to Do, to Give and to Take and in this workshop we will honour every phase to its fullest expression with meditation and movement through the menstrual cycle phases using music, breath, visualisation and voice. There are as many ways to cycle as there are of those of us that have them and every experience is welcome in this workshop.
