You've stayed late again, reviewing another complex case…

The patient is suffering. The protocols aren't working. And you're exhausted from trying to fix what seems unfixable.

You've seen it over and over in your practice:

  • Women bouncing between specialists with no real answers

  • Surgical interventions that provide temporary relief at best

  • Medications that mask symptoms without addressing root causes

  • Patients who feel dismissed, unheard, and hopeless

An overwhelmed practitioner at a laptop

The problem isn't the patients.

It's the model.

Because pelvic pain isn't just about tissue damage.

It's about nervous system dysregulation, unprocessed trauma, and the body's protective responses.

Most practitioners have never been taught how to work with these deeper layers.

And even fewer have learned this crucial truth:
You can't guide patients to nervous system regulation when you're dysregulated yourself.

At Vera Wellness, we've discovered the missing piece: your nervous system state is the foundation of effective treatment.

That's why our approach starts with YOU.

What if you could transform pain into a portal for healing?

The Vera Wellness approach treats pain not as an enemy to fight, but as a messenger bringing important information.

When you understand the neuroscience of chronic pain, you can:

  • Help patients shift from victim to empowered participant

  • Guide nervous system regulation that creates lasting change

  • Reduce your own burnout by working from a regulated state

  • See profound transformations that go far beyond pain reduction

This is the medicine the world needs. And you're the practitioner who can deliver it.

Meet your guides

Dr Peta Wright, Dr Thea Bowler, and Paula Hindle

Dr Peta Wright and Dr Thea Bowler are integrative gynaecologists with decades of experience blending cutting-edge medical expertise with a deeply compassionate, embodied approach to women's health.

Joining them is holistic physiotherapist Paula Hindle, whose expertise in pelvic floor therapy and nervous system regulation brings practical, somatic wisdom to the program.

After treating thousands of women with complex pelvic pain, they know the practitioner's nervous system state is a critical factor in successful treatment outcomes.

The Vera Wellness model starts with practitioner regulation – because you can't guide patients to nervous system safety when you're dysregulated yourself.

This program shares the exact approach that's transformed outcomes for hundreds of women and protected practitioners from burnout.

At the heart of this program is a fundamental shift in how we view symptoms and healing.

We’re not trying to “fix” pain or eliminate symptoms – we’re helping patients see their challenges as an invitation to look at what’s not working in their lives and to transform it.

Pain, illness, and distress are often signs that something is out of alignment – with their values, their relationships, their environment, or their sense of self.

This means stepping out of the traditional medical model where the practitioner is the expert who “fixes” the patient. Instead, we create a non-hierarchical space where the patient is the guide. They know what they need – our role is to help them access that wisdom.

We also recognise that you can’t hold this space for others if you’re not holding it for yourself. That’s why the program begins with your own journey – reconnecting you to your body, your cycles, your joy, and your purpose. Only then can you authentically walk alongside your patients as they choose their own healing destiny.

This is about awakening – yours and your patients’.

Why this program is different

ENROL NOW
A woman looking at the sunrise

“It has been an absolute physical and mental transformation. A lot of SLOW, but strong growth. I’ve really learnt the meaning of patience. And I’ve learnt how to feel rather than suppress – which helps me express creatively, and also helps me work through my big emotions instead of holding them in my mind and body. The biggest helps have been mindset shifts. And of course, you showing me how much power resides in me. A reconnection to myself, to the collective womanhood / community, and to nature.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What's included in the 4-day in-person intensive price?

The 4-day retreat intensive includes all teaching content, embodiment practices, meals during program hours, and materials. Accommodation is separate but available at discounted rates nearby. You can review the full retreat terms and conditions here.

Q. What’s the difference between the retreat and the online version?

The 4-day in-person retreat offers an immersive, embodied experience where you’ll learn and practice the entire curriculum in community at Vera Wellness. This intensive format is ideal if you want to step away from daily life and dive deeply into transformation in a short timeframe.

It includes breathwork, yoga, embodied practices like pleasure and joy work, and face-to-face connection with other practitioners.

The online version runs over 12 weeks and allows you to integrate the learning alongside your existing practice and life. It includes six weeks of embodiment and self-practice, followed by four weeks of pain education, with live Q&A sessions in weeks 7 and 12. This format gives you time to process, reflect, and implement changes gradually.

Both options cover the same core content and philosophy – the choice comes down to your learning style, schedule, and preference for intensive versus gradual integration.

Q. Are payment plans available? What are the cancellation terms?

Yes, payment plans are available for both the retreat and online program. You will see our payment plan options available at checkout.

For the retreat, a A$1,000 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place. Retreat cancellations made with a minimum of four weeks’ notice are eligible for a refund (less the deposit).

Cancellations made with less than four weeks’ notice are non-refundable. You can review the full terms and conditions here..

You can also review the full terms and conditions for our online program here.

Q. How much time will I need to commit to the online program each week?

The online program is designed to fit alongside your clinical work. You can expect to spend: 2-3 hours per week on video content, practices, reflections, and journaling.

The self-paced nature of the program allows you to work through content at times that suit your schedule. Many practitioners choose to engage with the material early in the morning or on weekends.

Q. Is this program only about nervous system regulation for practitioners?

No – this program goes much deeper. While nervous system regulation is foundational, the real transformation is about reconnecting you to joy, purpose, and meaning in your work and life.

We know many practitioners feel burnt out, disconnected, or stuck in patterns of trying to “fix” their patients.

This program helps you step out of the helper-victim dynamic and into a non-hierarchical model of care where you’re walking alongside your patients, not above them.

You’ll explore your own values, create sacred daily practices, and learn to work from a regulated, joyful state – because you can’t guide your patients to transformation if you haven’t experienced it yourself.

This isn’t just about becoming a better clinician – it’s about reclaiming your own vitality and remembering why you entered this work in the first place.

Q. I don’t specialise in pelvic pain – is this program still relevant for me?

Absolutely. While the program uses pelvic pain as a teaching example (because that’s our area of expertise), the philosophy, tools, and approach apply to all chronic pain conditions and a number of mental health challenges.

This program will give you a framework for understanding symptoms as invitations rather than problems to be fixed.

You’ll learn to help patients see their pain or distress as a portal to transformation – an opportunity to examine what’s not working in their lives and make meaningful change.

The nervous system principles, safety reappraisal techniques, and trauma-informed approach are universally applicable across all conditions where the mind-body connection plays a role.

Q. Do I need prior training in nervous system work or somatic practices?

No prior experience is required. This program is designed to meet you where you are, whether you’re completely new to nervous system-informed care or already have some background in this approach.

The first part of the program (and the immersive experience) focus on your own embodiment and practice, which gives you experiential knowledge before you start learning how to apply these concepts with patients.

We believe you can’t teach what you haven’t felt and integrated yourself – so we prioritise your personal experience first.

Q. Will I receive CPD points for completing this program?

We’re currently working towards CPD accreditation for this program. Updates on accreditation status will be shared as they become available. In the meantime, many professional bodies allow practitioners to self-report relevant professional development activities.

Q. What kind of support will I have during the program?

The online program includes:

  • Access to our Kajabi (learning platform) community platform for ongoing discussion and peer support

  • Two live Q&A sessions (weeks seven and 12) where you can ask questions and receive direct guidance from Dr Peta Wright, Dr Thea Bowler, and Paula Hindle

  • A comprehensive workbook with reflections, timelines, and handouts

  • Digital resources including guided meditations, somatic practices, and links to podcasts, books, and additional materials

For the retreat, you’ll have face-to-face access to the teaching team throughout the four days, plus the opportunity to connect with other practitioners in person.

Q. What if I can’t attend the live Q&A sessions?

All live sessions will be recorded and made available to participants who can’t attend in real time. You’ll also be able to submit questions in advance through the community platform, and we’ll address as many as possible during the session.

Q. Will I receive scripts and practical tools I can use immediately with patients?

Yes. The program includes:

  • Practical scripts for explaining pain physiology and safety reappraisal

  • Visual tools like the iceberg model, wheel of wellbeing, polyvagal chart, and window of regulation

  • Breath and somatic practices you can guide patients through

  • Vera handouts including our period pain flare toolkit and menstrual cycle awareness resources

  • Role-play opportunities in the final week to practice your skills

You’ll leave with concrete tools you can implement in your next consultation.
